Hannu LepistÖ

Hannu Lepistö was born to a Lutheran priest's family in 1979 in a small country village Hausjärvi about 80 kilometers north of Helsinki, Finland. Because of his father's profession and big brother's irritating and continuous piano practicing, music was always present in the home. Thank God Hannu's big brother also brought home classic albums by Bruce Springsteen, J.J. Cale, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, and Dire Straits.... Those had a great influence on Hannu. Big influence and idol too for Hannu was and still is his godfather Tapani and his guitar playing in Finnish band Nummisuutarit which was very popular in Finland in late '70s. And when the old school rap reached the little country village's school in the late 80’s Hannu was sold.

Fried Goat

Fried Goat - Bon Appétit
From their humble beginnings in 2007 Fried Goat formed an artistic union in Augusta, GA that has grown exponentially to the present day. The band continues to excite fans, both young and old throughout the country. The group's dedication to craft is edifying, life affirming, and deeply satisfying. Big riffs, massive grooves and expansive improvisations are the hallmarks of Fried Goat's legendary music. One may say that fate brought them together to form an eclectic sound with influences ranging from Bob Dylan to Black Sabbath.
In challenging the limits of reachable musical boundaries, Fried Goat has possibly created the rock album of the year. Laced with influences from hard rock, folk rock, blues, metal, country and Bulgarian rock, Bon Appétit has appeal for everyone, yet stubbornly refuses to be categorized.

Ryan O'Leary
I am an independent solo rock/pop artist. My main musical influences are Stephan Jenkins (Third Eye Blind, vocals), John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers, guitar), and Mike Einziger (Incubus, guitar).
After earning a bachelor's degree in "Rhetoric & Writing" from the University of Texas in 2008, I moved to California with two of my best friends not knowing what was ahead of me. Music had always been a passion of mine, and although I never had concrete plans to pursue it professionally, I knew it could be a worthwhile endeavor. It didn't take long for me to devote myself to the idea of releasing a professionally produced full-length album.
My debut single "Under the Influence" was released on April 12, 2011. The album will be released later this year.

Troy Lindsey

Troy Lindsey is the quintessential rolling stone. As a helicopter mechanic, he travels around the world training people and servicing machines. He has seen a lot of the world, and the bent shape that it's in, and his soulful response is the driving force behind his music. At fourteen, Troy Lindsey took three guitar lessons from a preacher in the back of a country church in Wyoming, and he's had a guitar in his hands ever since. Growing up, his musical influences included Waylon Jennings, AC/DC, The Stones, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan.

Mark Ramsey

I knew early on in life that I wanted to play music more than anything else. I did the standard piano lesson thing as a kid. As a teenager I played keys and drums in several Austin bands, while also playing in my high school band and the All-City Jazz Band. My high school marching drum section played my original cadences, and I think they still do today.
I studied Piano, and Theory & Composition at the University of Texas. I have been able to develop skills in arranging, producing, and playing multiple instruments. I have played in several cover bands in the Central Texas area. Like a lot of musicians, I made the pilgrimage to Nashville a few times and did some showcases up there.
These days, along with playing, I teach private lessons and workshops for Christian bands. I also produce recording projects for local songwriters and musicians.
More importantly though, I'm still married to the same girl I met in the high school drum section, and together, Brenda and I have raised four kids. So far we have four grandchildren. Grandkids are the coolest thing.

John McNulty

John McNulty is an American singer songwriter that has lived in Paris for the last ten years. His songs deal with life as an expatriate in one of the world's most beautiful cities and his deep, lush baritone voice comes from the tradition of such notable troubadours as Leonard Cohen and Scott Walker. Although gaining inspiration from a life spent away from the United States, his sound is very much of the folk and country variety but his lyrics often paint a picture of powerful personal experiences and travels abroad. "My favorite authors are people that can write truthfully about their experiences, veiled as other characters. Authors like John Fante and Sherwood Anderson, Raymond Carver and F. Scott Fitzgerald, if I could just do this with music and create some melodies to stick in people's heads as well, then this would be the ideal.

Fellaheen

Like Tom Waits jamming with the Velvet Underground.
DEATH & FROLIC is the product of about twelve months of blood, sweat, toil, tears, and “hey, how about just one more round?” So, on behalf of the group and ourselves, we hope you like it, that you’ll tell your friends about it, maybe write some nice things about it where people might read such nice things (you gotta blog?!? Hey, us too...), and, moreover, exist in a general state of happiness and grace. No foolin’!
Q: Who writes the songs and sweeps up after everyone’s gone home? A: Bruce Hanson, a somewhat-grizzled 40-something-year-old musician born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey. He specializes in writing slightly off-kilter original songs about shady characters, particle physics, love ’n’ hate, and works of art in the age of mechanical reproduction. Prior to Fellaheen, Hanson played in dozens of bands no one ever heard of (or at least remembers now) from the late 1970s through the early 1990s. Pausing to nap, he rediscovered his muse sometime around 1998, and so returned to music more-or-less full-time. And in a world dominated by giant record companies with little interest in nurturing music beyond that which can move a gazillion units in less than a week, he went the route now available via accessible recording technology, the Internet, and good ol’ fashion DIY: he built a recording studio in his home, and recruited a cadre of crack musical malcontents to join him in recording and releasing a succession of CDs. And the rest, as they say, is mystery.
Q: I see. And who's in the band? A: It’s a fairly loose, somewhat anarchic collective, but joining Bruce in Fellaheen is some combination of the following folks: Joe Borthwick (upright bass, vocals); Mark Orlandini (drums); Dan Trent (lead guitar); and Kerry Watson (drums). Other friends contribute when they can.

Grace Potter
and the Nocturnals

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals is an American rock band from Waitsfield, Vermont.
The group's lead vocalist is multi-instrumentalist Grace Potter, who attended St. Lawrence University for two years before pursuing music professionally. She plays Hammond B3, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer Electric Piano and electric and acoustic guitars. The other members of the band are Scott Tournet, on guitars (including slide guitar) and harmonica, drummer Matthew Burr, Catherine Popper on bass guitar and vocals, and Benny Yurco on electric and vocals. Bryan Dondero played bass guitar, upright bass, and mandolin with the group until his departure in early 2009. The sound of the Leslie speaker gives this group another dimension when tied to Graces' finger licks on the Hammond organ.
Potter contributed again to One Tree Hill in the show's eighth season. Various artists covered Gavin DeGraw's hit song I Don't Want to Be to be played over the show's opening credits. Potter contributed her cover for the eighth episode of the season, Mouthful of Diamonds.
Potter sang on the track “You and Tequila,” on the September, 2010, album Hemingway's Whiskey by country music singer Kenny Chesney. Chesney joined the Nocturnals when they opened on October 30 for The Avett Brothers at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Megan Dettrey

Megan started working with South Jersey voice coach and producer Steve Childs in 2006. She began recording in 2009 and around this time Steve introduced her to Apollyon Records where she was quickly signed to a recording contract. Her debut EP, Big Puzzled World, showcases her skills as a vocalist and songwriter. Of the seven songs on the cd, Megan wrote two by herself (Thinking Of You and Invisible In Your Eyes). The other songs were co-written with singer/songwriter Cody Smith.
Apollyon Records is proud to announce the release of Big Puzzled World, the debut EP from teenage singer/songwriter Megan Dettrey. The official release date is April 15, 2011. The seven songs on the EP highlight Megan's exceptional vocal ability, along with her songwriting skills. Megan wrote two songs by herself (Thinking Of You and Invisible In Your Eyes). The other songs were co-written with singer/songwriter Cody Smith and Megan contributed the melodies and most of the lyrics. Her influences include Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Sara Bareilles, and Colbie Callait. She especially admires the songwriting ability of some of these artists and attempts to emulate them in her songwriting.

Simon Fagan
Simon Fagan is not our typical Irish singer songwriter. Blending elements of gospel and folk with acoustic rock Simon and his band produce a big Americana sound.
His debut album, "Outside Looking In" manages to capture the emotion of Simon's live set, combined with compelling harmonies and intricate arrangements. It includes live favourites "Damn Honey" and "Water's Edge"; and the International Songwriting Competition winning gem "Never Really Cried".
"Outside Looking In" sees a change in direction from Simon's debut EP "Hired And Fired", moving away from brass heavy arrangements and focusing more on acoustic-based rock, with elements of gospel and folk to give it a big Americana feel. Co-produced by Fagan and Martin Quinn (Juliet Turner/Ham Sandwich) the album carries lush string arrangements and features the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
The UK not being exotic enough for this young Meath man, he decided to take his band on a tour of Egypt, where he witnessed first hand the corruption and hypocrisy that stifles this once great African nation. While performing sold out shows in Sharm El Sheik, Dahab and Cairo, Fagan visited Bedouin tribes, travelled through deserts and got a locals view of Cairo. Whilst performing at the famous Cairo Jazz Club, he was invited onto both Nile TV (10m viewers) and Nile FM.
On his return from Egypt, Simon put his focus on writing and recording his debut album., "Outside Looking In" and named RTE Album of the Week. Since it's release Simon has toured heavily throughout Ireland, including; two headline shows in Cork for Arthur's Day (Old Oak & Pavilion); supports to The Saw Doctors, Ocean Colour Scene and Jerry Fish; and toured in the UK, US and Canada.

Craig Pilo

In the fall of 1996 he moved to Los Angeles where he resides today. In 1997 Craig did the fall tour with famed trumpeter Maynard Ferguson to promote his One More Trip To Birdland CD. Two years later, in 2007, Craig continued touring with Frankie Valli and was also able to tour with Edgar Winter, and Player. Day Old Funk

Day Old Funk originated back in 2002 with founders Aaron Correira and Jesse Copley. Still trying to define their sound, Aaron and Jesse brought in Todd Langlois in 2005. For years they were working on their style and bounced around from basement to basement. In 2010 Steve Lennon joined the band. Members include Aaron (bass/percussion/vocals), Jesse (rhythm guitar/lead vocals), Todd (lead guitar/percussion/back-up vocals) and Steve (drums). With their sound fully developed, the band began to record and completed their debut CD “Year at the Beach” in 2010 and has received great reviews ever since.

Groove 55

Groove 55 presents its new release "En Route", an uptempo smooth jazz album, foot-tapping, rhythm blended & steeped in rich harmonic original melodies!
Collectively, the four band members bring decades of music experience to the project having worked with Oliver Jones, Gregory Charles, & Zachary Richard to name but a few. So it seems almost fitting that they would come together as a unified collective to share in their many years of creative experience and knowledge to create "En Route".
The Groove:55 members, all very talented esteemed musicians, are Yves Adam (alto, tenor & soprano sax) a graduate of McGill’s music in jazz performance as well as teaching saxophone at The Montreal International Jazz festival Blues Camp; Jacques Mignault (Rhodes, piano, clavinet, synths)studied alongside Art Roberts at Montreal’s Concordia University, he would later go on to win the inaugural grand prize of the Roland Synthesizer music contest among hundreds of entrants spanning over 22 countries that was judged by the late great Oscar Peterson; Yves Nadeau (bass) is a veteran of the Montreal Jazz scene, having played hundreds of shows on stages all over Quebec with his bands Solstice & Espresso. Rounding out the Montreal quartet is Jacques Gagne (drums) he himself well known and ensconced early on with some of the biggest TV shows in Quebec and on the touring scene. Together they make up Groove:55, a number that has the remarkable property of being the 10th number of the Fibonacci suite and is the sum of the numbers 1 to 10... The most important part is its groove and this band has it in spades with their new release "EnRoute"!

Alexander Boynton

Alexander Boynton Jr. is a Canadian bassist, composer and producer, who has his spiritual roots in the Gospel music. Inspired by Hugh Masekela, Les McCain or Roy Ayers he finally found his stage in the smooth jazz music.
For his debut album Doo Bee Doo Bop (2010) Alexander invited top-notch musicians of the smooth jazz scene like Jeff Lorber (keyboards), Tony Maiden (guitar), Tony Moore (drums), Rick Braun (trumpet), Paul Jackson, Jr. (guitar), Lenny Castro (percussion), Phil Perry and Chelsea Nicole (vocals), and many more. Jeff Lorber produced, engineered and mixed the complete album.
With Beyond The Gate Alexander Boynton swears us to his fantastic world of music. Miguelito Valdez mesmerizes with his muted trumpet, while Jeff Lorber sets his statement on piano. The Latin jazz flavor is delivered by percussion legend Lenny Castro. A mysterious piece in the style of Eric Burden's War.

Anthony Charman

Solo artist Anthony Charman is a Pop/Rock musician.
After playing in a band and performing at such venues as 'The Cavern Club' in Liverpool and 'The Troubador' in London, Anthony decided to go it alone. And, with a year spent writing and recording, would end up with 'Menace to Society.' A classically English sounding Pop/Rock album with hints of a sixties influence.
"The album written by Anthony Charman is a masterpiece for those listeners who want to hear a kind of fusion between Mark Bowlan, Bob Dylan and very early Van Morrison. It's highly creative and goes against the grain of much of the music you'll hear in the charts. Confidently executed with bags of feeling.
It's probably realistic to think you are either going to love this music or hate it but it is undeniably original and recorded in a manner that lends itself well to the style of music.
The full tracks listing is given below with the highlights of the album being 'Should've known better' and 'Bernie and Junie's summer love' with perhaps the weakest song being 'Sweet Emily', I am sure the young lady it was written for would still be delighted to have her name thrown in with the rest of the tunes on the album. Pretty much every track on the album has something to offer."- Mark Hussey - Founder and director of TopoftheOx and Session guitarist.

Luke Smith
and the Feelings

Luke Smith was born and raised in Canterbury, England.
Since leaving school as soon as he could in 1994, Luke has spent most evenings playing piano in Canterbury's pubs and bars, and the rest of his time writing his own songs; genre-busting gems, instantly recognizable through their sharp glimpses of everyday life and relationships.
Some famous fans of Luke's music include Belle & Sebastian front-man Stuart Murdoch, Red Hot Chilli Peppers' guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, 60's psychedelic godfather Arthur Brown, and New York Antifolk pioneers Lach and Thomas Truax.
Luke has released seven CDs of his songs, and appeared many times on the radio (BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Kent, Virgin Radio).
Luke Smith & The Feelings are currently playing a weekly residency in Canterbury's 600 year old pub the Cherry Tree, which is popular with college students, and therefore suits Luke, as he still can't accept being slightly over thirty. The band are now working on their eighth CD.

Rosa Diaz

Rosa Diaz was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She moved to the United States with her family as a child and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her first collection of songs was released in September of 2010 under the name Lullabies for Those At War. Although the songs in this collection may seem to gravitate towards more melancholy topics, songwriting for Diaz has become an exercise in purging herself of the pain of life by not being afraid to visit darker topics in hopes of finding solace and a sort of redemptive quality in even the ugliest of circumstances. "Lullaby for a Suicide Bomber," for example, is a song she penned after watching a public television special on the recruitment of children by Jihadists in Pakistan. She is currently working on a second release,Whim, which will focus more on the absurd and feature more lighthearted, folk-oriented material and some songs in her native Spanish.

David White Jazz Orchestra

The David White Jazz Orchestra is the creation of trombonist, composer, arranger David White. This 17-piece ensemble plays David’s original music and arrangements exclusively. The orchestra began performing in the fall of 2007 and in 2009 David was awarded a grant from the American Music Center to support the creation of new works for it to perform. Recently, the orchestra recorded its first studio album entitled Flashpoint.
The members of the orchestra come from diverse backgrounds and each individual adds something unique to the tapestry of the whole. Although we take a deep bow to the traditions passed down by our elders, our music is progressive and this is most decidedly not your grandfather’s big band.
This orchestra is dedicated to exploring the answers to three questions:
· What if jazz orchestrations could be as rich and as colorful as those found in symphonic and contemporary classical music?
· What would happen if each member of an orchestra were given the freedom to improvise and to tell his or her own story through the music?
· What would it sound like if a jazz orchestra broke away from the traditional formats and structures and opened the music up to more and more possibilities?
The resulting music is deeply personal, refreshingly original, exciting to listen to and quite beautiful. We invite you to come explore with us.

Keith Muzikman Hannaleck says "Fallon Cush is a seamlessly polished sound that anyone with the ability to hear will likely dub a great record."

New York artist D’nae unabashedly believes in love, but her new 12-song CD, I Am Your Guitar, is far from naïve. She delves into loss, pain, disappointment and disheartenment and comes out on the other side without seeming like a cockeyed optimist.
The absolute angst of the opening track, "What You Do to Me," sums up her approach: get real about the pain but remain sure there is relief in sight. She delivers her vision with a voice that is soft, reflective and wise.
Her vocal choices tend toward the surprising in places, such as in the title track, "I Am Your Guitar," where she chooses to soften her voice where other singers would have belted. This kind of reflection and conscious choice is evident throughout her recordings.
