Tohm Lev

Tohm Lev is an artist, performer, writer, musician, actress, dancer and animal activist based in New York City. At the age of 12, Tohm started writing for teen magazines and different journals about animals, music and entertainment. She worked as a journalist and produced a radio show in Israel before she crossed the ocean to develop her own creative expression in NYC. She has worked for "GO magazine", "Rosh1?, TLV Times" and was the youngest night life editor of "Bin.co.il". She also produced a musical radio show at "Radio Kol Rega" of northern Israel.
After Tohm finished 2 years of service in the Air Force, she starred in the parody "The Fairy Tale Movie" as the character Dana. Before the indie movie got released in Israel, Tohm made a life shaping decision to move to New York. She moved to the Big Apple at the age of 20 with only $300 and a demo. Tohm started walking dogs for a living and met Simon Kirk, the drummer of "Bad Company" & "Free". Simon helped Tohm record new demos in his home studio and they worked together on the pop version duet of Bad Company’s "Shooting Star". Simon Kirk introduced Tohm to producer and songwriter Larry Dvoskin whom she now along with Gordon Grody and Franki Buonadonna started collecting material and co-writing on various songs. She studied in The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute and had a monthly column called "Tom and the City" about her life as an artist and acting student in NYC that got published in Go Magazine in Israel. She was also on a self-produced, YouTube reality show called "Tom In NY" (before she added the "H" to her name.) Tohm has trained with Craig Derry in his famous vocal boot camp for more than a year. She has worked with Semi ("Forever") Fields, on their "Songs to Change to World" project and recorded "Torch To Light The World", a song for AFA ("All For Africa", non-profit organization.)

James Anthony Cotton

James began playing the piano at the age of four. At an early age he gained personal access to some of the all time greats in blues and jazz, learning as a protégée first hand the philosophy, spirit and science within the mastery from these compensate legendary artists. He continued in his teens to develop his own compositions and personal style, performing solo and forming bands over next 30 years he has played venues both large (90,000+) and small intimate clubs as a headliner or with some of best talent in various genres.
His philosophy towards music as he has stated is simple "I came from the Beatles generation… where every album was different. I always waited to see what my artist would do...where they went...I trusted them to take me somewhere they discovered. Hendrix, Miles, Muddy, Brubeck, Horowitz…. all of the genres greats...that is why they were great! I never want any of my records to be the same as the last. Things change.... so do I.... but all of them (my recordings) should be timeless. In their pureness of heart... welcoming any new listener, at any space, at any place in time, to feel real emotions, fresh inventions of even the most mundane rhythm, to feel. A calculated righteousness with the melodic and counter punctual harmony and focused by a clear melody that defines a classic, timeless song, no matter what format or genre…I have found that audiences of all backgrounds accept me when given the right venue…because I know I can only create and be in the moment of that moment with them…. we collaborate in a way to make a wonderful experience together, artistic truth cannot be dismissed. If not it's a waste of their time, money and my talent…."

John McNulty

John McNulty is an American singer songwriter that has lived in Paris for the last ten years. His songs deal with life as an expatriate in one of the world's most beautiful cities and his deep, lush baritone voice comes from the tradition of such notable troubadours as Leonard Cohen and Scott Walker. Although gaining inspiration from a life spent away from the United States, his sound is very much of the folk and country variety but his lyrics often paint a picture of powerful personal experiences and travels abroad. "My favorite authors are people that can write truthfully about their experiences, veiled as other characters. Authors like John Fante and Sherwood Anderson, Raymond Carver and F. Scott Fitzgerald, if I could just do this with music and create some melodies to stick in people's heads as well, then this would be the ideal.

Josephine Keers

I write and record all my songs on an 8 track set up. I've got a small room now instead of using the kitchen although I do have to share the space with my daughter as the computers in the room too. I normally write around 4 am. I get woken up with some song banging in my head. It won't shut up till I write it all down. I write in various style from Rock through to Country. My main interest is to get a publishing deal. It would be great to get paid for doing something I love. I'm a member of the ISA - that's where I read about Soundclick, by the way. The ISA are great I'd recommend them to anyone. They're so helpful even if you're asking some really dumb question. I've dabbled in poetry and music for a large part of my life. I like to listen to all kinds of music. I would hate to be asked what my favourite song or artist is. Some days it's Mozart, some days Black Sabbath - the Ozzy version, mind -then another day maybe Eva cassidy.

John Huxham

Sounding like a cross between John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnston, Joe Cocker, Tom Waits, and Bob Dylan, John Huxham was born in Brisbane, Australia, but grew up submerged in the surf culture of its northern beaches with the smell of salt air piquing his senses, sand between his toes, and the sound of the waves breaking. But he also spent a number of years working in the red dust of sheep and cattle properties west of the Great Dividing Range before returning to the coast. It’s this eclectic blend of city, country and coastal influences that infuse his music.
Characterised by diverse styles traversing contemporary folk, funk, blues, rock and jazz, John creates music that is real, speaks of life, love, loss and turmoil, and tells stories that transport you to other places. As a multi-instrumentalist he uses a wide pallet of sounds to create these immersive soundscapes; from guitar, piano, bass and drums, to organ, slide guitar, strings, horns, harmonica and percussion, as well as less conventional sounds such as breaking glass, clinking bottles, thunder, bird calls, heartbeats, trashcans and prostitutes making small talk.
With a passion for songwriting, and extensive life experiences as a rich source of material, John is fast becoming recognised as a talented songwriter, winning a multitude of awards from a string of international songwriting competitions.

Alya Stackhouse

Ayla Stackhouse was blessed with an apropos name because this talented teen is ‘stacked’ with talent. The Detroit-native is a natural-born singing sensation fortified with operatic training, jazz chops, budding capabilities on three instruments (classical piano, guitar and clarinet) and a passion for writing her own songs. Though her schooling has been in loftier realms of music, Ayla is determined to craft a pop album that connects to kids her age. All of this and much more is evident in the music of her debut CD, produced by multi-faceted Motown veteran Michael B. Sutton. "Ever since I was little I’ve been watching Disney Channel, Ayla (pronounced "Ay-Luh") says with a laugh. "I love opera and my father – who’s also a singer – taught me jazz, but I don’t want to sing just that music for the rest of my life. My musical lane will be something like Pop-Rock-R&B-Alternative…a list of styles all mushed together!"

Teddy Goldstein

Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, PA. (Haverford, Bryn Mawr), singer/songwriter Teddy Goldstein got his start in music by mostly performing for friends and family. "My first gig was at my brothers Bar Mitzvah when I was 3 years old. I did a cover version of Jim Croces Bad Bad Leroy Brown and the place went nuts. people were lifting each other up on chairs."
In 2002, Teddy released his second CD titled, THE LOVE LOT, which consisted of a lot of love songs. Shortly after the albums release, the song Lucky In Love was used on the NBC television show MEET MY FOLKS. Since then, many T.V. shows have featured songs from the album including: FELICITY, EVERWOOD, SUMMERLAND, THE UNIT as well as NPRs CAR TALK.
Teddys third album (released 2004) is a LIVE CD. It captures the high energy and humor of Teddy's live show as well as taped phone conversations between Teddy and his grandfather, who often gives him (unsolicited) career advice.
In May of 2010 Teddy is releasing his first album under his bands name, Teddy Goldstein and The Goldsteins titled, Alright Is The New Fantastic. "It's good to have the band back together with many of the original members. It's hard to say if we'll tour - I think everyone right now is just hoping that the band does not break up." The songs Fully and Not The Real Thing have been licensed for the upcoming film, Café - starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jaime Kennedy.

MURASKO

I've often been asked to explain my style of music. I would have to say that the fact that I was born in the mid-sixties in a northern suburban town, north of Detroit Michigan had a large influence on my style. At that time, two of the largest musical movements going on were Mo-town, and Rock-n-Roll. Being the youngest of seven, these types of music were always being played around the house by my brother's and sister's. At that time the hot new artists were Led Zeppelin, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross and the Supremes and the whole Motown scene. But I would have to say that the Beatles were the group that was most instrumental in the fact that music picked me. These artists inspired the upbeat rhythms, and strong lyrics and leads that are a signature in my music.
_ My life has changed immensely over the past few years. In early 2005, my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world. We doubled that in 2007 with the birth of our second child. My music took a back seat during the last few years. I'm Mr. Mom, so I take care of my children during the week and work a part time job on the weekends. So my priorities were my children and family. They still are my priority, but I've been able to finally fit in some music time and finish my CD. I have to say being a stay at home father was the best decision I have ever made. I have an amazing relationship with both of my children. Now they are starting to jam with their dad. How cool is that!

K'Sandra

K'SANDRA has found her audience by helping them get lost. Lost in the music the way listeners used to get lost in Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin songs.
"I admire how they found a groove to put themselves into a trance, losing track of all space and time around them," K'SANDRA says.
Her inspiration came when she decided to put that rock feel together with dance. In her music, unstoppable beats combine with a rock'n'roll sensibility in a way that takes listeners on a journey that pulls them into the moment and keeps them there. The music sneaks into your ears at the same time it moves up from your feet, and meets in the middle. The result is pure K'SANDRA - music for the mind, body and heart.
She's not all about happy feet. There is a sadness, a depth in her music that tinges the celebration with longing. Her music embraces the full experience of being human - the happy and the sad, the joyful and the melancholy, the stillness of peace and the restless movement of the body compelled by a relentless beat. It's the kind of music you relate to more than listen to. "It is all about the magic that is left in people's memories once you are gone and your music lives on," she says.
All these paradoxes are captured in her new album "Light'n'Dark". Think Lady Gaga meets the Doors. Think Kiss meets Kylie Minogue. Think about the appeal of pop and dance with a rock'n'roll heart. Her titles include "Finger on the Trigger", "Gossip" and "Push the Girl". And to prove she's not just a Gaga-come-lately, her album will include her spoken-word poetry. This is a true artist, not a mere flash in the pan.

Rosa Wallace
Rosa Wallace grew up in Raleigh, NC and began songwriting at the age of twelve. During the early years spent honing her skills in various punk bands, she always took time to write alone, whether in notebooks at school or on the walls of practice spaces, using an old classical guitar that her mother had played in college. Sifting through her parents' vinyl collection, she found a second home in the sounds of Folk, Blues, Soul, and Classic Rock.
Wallace continued to write songs while studying musical theatre in college and while she worked her way across Europe and Asia for the following three years. Her exposure to countless musicians across the globe and her own equally diverse musical history have influenced her compositions, while her astute and straightforward observations lead to a directness in her lyrics that can be both humorous and painfully honest. Her songs are tiny portraits of all life offers: love and loss; mischief and atonement; success and failure; but most of all, the power of a resilient spirit. She currently hails from the earthly paradise of New York City.

Richard Burr

Born and raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley, musician Richard Burr’s music has gained attention and praise throughout the world and has topped the radio-airplay charts! His 2nd independent release “This Winter’s Chills” has been compared to some of the greatest contemporary songwriters in the music industry such as: Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Steve Forbert. Richard’s just released new CD promises to be a mixture of interesting rhythms and inspired storytelling. "The CD is a bit of a departure. Rhythmically, the record has taken on a direction that is new for me and I am really having fun with it. I am certainly stretching vocally and enjoying the inspirational quality I am working to infuse into this CD lyrically. I have always been fond of stories of the human struggle."
The title of the new CD is Avenue 256. It contains 11 new original tracks and a cover of Bob Dylan's classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right". As previously mentioned, the new music is a departure from Richard's previous releases, but the lyrics are still as poignant and the voice is just as distinctive.

Julio Awad

Julio Awad,Pianist and Composer, born in Buenos Aires. His music reveals an eclectic style with influences from all over the world that will bring you to any place where music just happens.
"Thousand Miles" new solo album by Julio Awad, pianist & composer, in which he has brought together a group of star studded musicians to present his Jazz/New Age compositions. The acoustic piano sparks in the opening "Tornado Tango", an improvisation accompanied by two legendary musicians bass player Mark Egan and drummer Paul Wertico. In other composition like “We Arrived” we can appreciate the different styles and his strong work as arranger which create an endless string of feelings, counting with the magnificent Peter Erskine and the wonderful sax player Patxi Pascual. We can also delight in the mixture of styles and colors, with two excelent singers Machan Taylor and Lucy Lummis, who interpret two marvelous tracks on this CD. As the author says "Thousand Miles" is a mixture of different styles he has interpreted throughout his carreer and has also tried to describe different moments of his life.

Audrey & Orwell

"What started as the solo project of singer/songwriter Jason Dutton (ex-Nixon Ford and Carter) has morphed into a quartet featuring two known locals-viola player Emily Ng of Super Desserts and vocalist Counterfeit Madison of Trains Across the Sea and the Dewdroppers, plus new-to-the-scene cellist Natalie Manny. The young band, Audrey & Orwell, has made some live appearances in the last year and is now releasing its first recording in the form of a four-song EP, Stairwells, recorded by Josh Landis of Old Son Studios. As with the chamber-folk group Lost in the Trees-a band Audrey & Orwell opened for at the Wexner Center recently-the strings on Stairwells serve as more than garnish. Ng and Manny get their own space in most songs, yet they don’t muddy up parts that shouldn’t be muddied. Their melodies, unpredictable and pleasantly off-kilter, go a step further in composition and arrangement than is common with folk-pop acts." - The Other Paper.

Paul Benshoof

Paul Benshoof began his musical career in high school by writing rock ‘n roll songs. He also performed with school acquaintances. Paul progressed into an acoustic folk soloist while attending college in upstate New York. In 1986 a college friend dared him to record an album. Six albums later, that ‘dare’ proved to be fruitful in many ways. His audience grew and Paul returned back to his rock 'n roll roots and cemented his place as a folk/rock artist.
Paul Benshoof is highlighting three singles, One Guitar, Still I Sing and Can’t Say Goodbye.
One Guitar is from the Won’t You Leave Me Alone? album, released in 1994. Still I Sing and Can’t Say Goodbye are from the Still I Sing album, released in 2006. However, One Guitar and Can’t Say Goodbye will also be included on Paul’s forthcoming Best of… album, expected to be released in 2011.
