Jefferson Grizzard ![]() Growing up in small town Rome, Georgia and listening to his father’s records, Back Porch Syndicate Records recording artist Jefferson Grizzard cites The Beatles and The Band as the major influences of his musical heritage. The release of his first album, “A Crack in the Door,” a collection of Country and Rock and Roll songs, takes us back to the 60’s and 70’s era and into a world reminiscent of the stylistic murmurings of such artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Donovan and Kris Kristofferson. At the age of thirteen, Jeff became serious about his guitar and writing. By the age of eighteen, Jeff’s musical portfolio contained over 100 songs, good songs, songs containing an earthy heart and soul more readily displayed in the life of someone who had lived many more years. Brandon Kane ![]() Brandon Kane is a diverse and talented artist who will captivate the music industry with his voice, presence and style. Although his style has been compared to Chris Brown, Mario and Ne-yo and a voice that has been compared to the young Michael Jackson, BK has his own style and his versatility will appeal to all audiences. He has a pure R&B voice and with his background in singing, acting and dancing, he is definitely a triple threat and the world will be blessed to experience all three. Paul Venable ![]() Paul Venable was born and raised in a small town in Southeast New Mexico but currently lives in New York City. His life as a vocalist began at 7 years of age after winning a church sponsored singing contest that included New Mexico and West Texas. "I've pretty much been singing for anyone who will listen ever since" says Paul. It was during his college years that Paul got the songwriting bug, and shortly after receiving his diploma with a minor in Music, he moved to Nashville, TN. Paul spent almost 10 years in Nashville where he says: "I had the great opportunity to meet some lifelong friends and play and write with some fantastic musicians. That time in Nashville in many ways is what brought me to where I am today - recording my first solo album and blessed with the opportunity to write music full time." Paul's album "What's not to love", is due out Spring of 2012. JennyD

Chuck Lee Bramlet ![]() Chuck Lee Bramlet lays down a solid bedrock of musical honesty then launches some surprisingly sophisticated and satisfying lyrics, often brutally funny, and sometimes poignant. Think Red-house painters, Chris Whitley, early Petty, John Prine. As a solo artist Chuck has an uneasy truce with pop music. His gestalt recalls Roger McGuinn, the Band, early Springfield, Grape, Leonard Cohen. His songs are dark, but he doesn’t aim for it. "I attended a close friend’s wedding, she asked me to play a song, and I realized I didn’t have a single love song to play. I ended up playing Eyes of a Killer." He plays all things stringed. After being a band member for so long, it was a chance listening to Jay Farrar on Son Volt's ‘TRACE’ that prompted Chuck to buy an old Guild Dreadnought and start playing the Portland scene as a solo act. Now living in Los Angeles, Chuck considers songwriting "noble work, and excellent therapy.” Three records have been released under his name, 2003's POOKS ROAD, 2004's MURDER OF CROWS and 2010's BURN DOWN START OVER. Generic labels like impresario, maestro, multi-talented or Renaissance man don’t seem to encompass the extraordinary gift of Michael Sterling’s musicianship. A Miami native, his musical career started in his teens when he played bass for popular Latino recording artist Ray Fernandez. Eager to branch out into another direction, Michael and two childhood friends formed the group Silver Platinum, who quickly scored a hit on the R&B charts with their hit "Dance". She goes home on holidays and still gets homesick for her family, so it's no surprise that she finds creative ways to incorporate them into her music. On her upcoming album she has recorded a song about her family, Down Home Pickin', featuring her daddy and her brother Bryce as instrumentalists. Young and self-reliant, she already has a great fan base who are real music lovers and enthusiastic about live, expressive music. With every song, Hali delivers the experience a country music lover has come to crave. Alfords Band of Bullwinkles ![]() "We got sick of hearing the same over produced sugar pop shit on the radio; we wanted to hear good pounding country rock, songs that tell stories and songs that mean something. A CD you want to leave in the car ‘n’ crank up loud; we wanted something new we could sing and yell to, so we made it ourselves" Matt Alford, lead singer. The guitar is sweet, the vocals grind and the banjo hops along. The album is diverse and individual, and the best bit is that it's independent. It's a monster! Someone said. Beau had been dabbling with the guitar for a while, then after a devastating breakup in 2007, the stage was set. He says, "I had all these intense emotions coming up, and I knew enough guitar chords to play some music. I kept after it every day for about two years, and I had an album's worth of music I really liked." Beau's debut album, entitled Well, was released in 2011. It runs deep with themes sad and sexy, spiritual and hilarious. He describes the project, "It's tragedy, it's comedy...and everything in-between. I guess it's kind of a variety show. Musically, I tried to blend my favorite genres together - folk, pop, electronica, guitar driven rock, vocal harmonies." All the Seals lying at the Cove read
