While developing his career as a solo artist, Michael also spent time as an audio engineer and producer at Luke Records, where he produced hits for local artists 2 Live Crew, MC Shy D, JT Money and others. JSG was determined to write big, memorable vocal melodies perfectly blended with keys, guitars and backed by a well crafted rhythm section. The idea was to create a melting pot mixed with influential acts including past success such as The Beatles, The Cars, The Beach Boys, Tears for Fears as well as a handful of the 90's and today's heroes. JSG signed to JMD Records in 2009.
The much anticipated album is scheduled for a 2010 release under the direction of JMD Records/INgrooves/Universal.

Dominique Soundz
"Dominique is a young R&B singer hailing from the West Coast (Los Angeles, CA to be exact), where music and entertainment thrives and the competition is heavy. I don’t think the competition factor is intimidating for Dominique, as he seems to know what he's doing. And it shows on his latest hit "You Deserve a Grammy". "You Deserve a Grammy" is an addicting hit. There is something about the melody that had this one going off in my head all day.

Bruce Lloyd Kates

LONESOME FOR L. A. is written in a swing jazz style. It is upbeat, has a catchy tune, and reminds one of something Frank Sinatra might have sung once he got tired of singing "NEW YORK, NEW YORK!" This jazzy song was featured by Continental Airlines a few years ago as part of their onboard jazz programming. Some French musicians from Bordeaux who flew to the US happened to hear it and were very taken by it. So,when they got back home to Bordeaux, they began featuring it in various jazz clubs.
As a result, my tune, LONESOME FOR L. A., is much better known in Bordeaux than in Los Angeles which, by the way, is the "sister city" of Bordeaux. I find this to be somewhat ironical. But, on the other hand, it makes sense that it's easier to be lonesome for L. A. when you're not IN L.A,
If I were called upon to describe in one sentence what my songs and music are about, I would say they are an attempt to bring together and harmonize two very different aspects of myself - the emotional and the rational. I think that this kind of endeavor - integrating these two sides of one's nature - is common to the human condition. At least, I'm hoping it will strike a chord in many people.

As with many artists, church provided a great training ground for developing music and performance skills.

Nicole Witt

There is something striking about Nicole when she stands on a stage. Maybe it is the calm and confident way she addresses a crowd. It could be the ability to play the fiddle and piano with abandon. There's a probability it's the voice that leaves Nicole's personalized stamp on each song she sings. Or it might be the songwriting that weaves emotion into an unforgettable sound. However, more than likely it's all of the above...
When Nicole picks up the fiddle, the crowd can be prepared for fun. Like the sound of wheels on a smooth train track, she slides through each song without missing a beat. Toes tap and people sway along to the music.
It's not just the sound of University of Missouri grad's beautiful voice delivering the message. It's Nicole's interpretation of each song. THAT is what makes a listener connect to her music and the raw emotion it evokes. Nicole Witt music gives sound to a wide variety of feelings.
This is a woman who truly loves the art of the song. Each tune stands on it's own. However, when Nicole is the one at the microphone they take on an even deeper meaning.

Dane Drewis
Dane Drewis' love for music and passion for live performance came to fruition during his six year stretch as the front-man for rock/funk band Cuesta Drive. While singing, composing, and playing guitar for the band, Dane wrote and produced three records with Cuesta Drive.
In 2010, Dane released his solo debut "Rock & Soul." An album defined by crisp vocal harmonies, precise guitar work, and a solid rhythm section. The distinct and versatile songs take their cues from the rock, blues, and soul music of the 60's and 70's. Vocally, the album showcases Beatle-esque harmonies and the melodic stylings of the Motown era. Other aspects were largely influenced by the lead guitar work of prodigies like Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Page.
Dane's distinct sound encompasses the range of his influences, taking cues from pop, jazz, rock, r&b, reggae, folk, soul, and blues. "Rock & Soul" calls upon all of his immediate family members for their talent and support. Janel and Deena Drewis can be heard throughout the album on vocals, guitars, keyboards and percussion, while his parents, Dale and Janet Drewis, provide bass and vocal harmonies respectively. The Dane Drewis band is currently touring to promote the new release with Dale Drewis (Father) on Bass/vocals and Jason Weed on the drums.

The past 7 years she has been joined by her daughter JULIA GRAFF (now in her 3rd year at McGill) on violin, piano, accordion, guitar & mandolin. Shel Rasten

Sarah Wallis

Singer/Songwriter Sarah Wallis creates music as versatile as the Vermont seasons. Having grown up in a very musical and creative environment, she sprouted her garden of music at a very young age. Cultivating and loving tones and sounds - it was very fertile ground - and she has been making noise ever since. Her CD (released 02/2011) is a collection of original songs and is a beautiful debut of her talent and her bright musical spirit.
"Cold Heat" introduces Wallis as a vocal force. Her thin, vulnerable delivery immediately recalls that of Mitchell, a fellow Vermont-born songwriter. Like Mitchell, Wallis wields her unique timbre with cunning, squeezing every ounce of emotive juice from her reedy pipes. Unlike Mitchell, however, Wallis favors a far more overtly pop-centric aesthetic.
"Salt" is a stunner and perhaps best signals Wallis' potential. A grainy accordion wheezes above fleeting, atmospheric Rhodes swells, fleshing out an otherwise stark arrangement.

The Problems

With Kilbane (bass) and Goldberg (banjo, harmonica, accordion, keys and vocals) joining Caiafa (guitar, vocals) and fellow founding member Barbara Corless (drums), The Problems began writing and recording the 14 songs that would ultimately make up the 'Powder Blue Bone' track list. Welcoming two new members into the fold presented a unique set of challenges, but it also allowed the band to experiment with everything from instrumentation and production to songwriting. The Problems also were joined in the studio by vocalist Charlene McPherson (from the NYC band Spanking Charlene) and guitarist Rich Hinman (from the NYC band Madison Square Gardeners), but as Caiafa explains, Corless helps bring it all together behind the drums.
While The Problems have enjoyed writing songs for movie soundtracks, they are most excited about 'Powder Blue Bone'. "Everyone involved with the album was in it for the greater cause and not just 'doing their job,'" Caiafa says. "Whether it was scheduling their time or making financial concessions, everyone from the studio owners, engineers and the musicians all went above and beyond. I felt a good kind of pressure to make sure this album wound up meeting or exceeding everyone's good intentions and efforts."
